DAAD Scholarship

  • The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers a wide range of scholarship opportunities including PhD scholarships for jointly supervised research projects. Candidates can apply directly after passing the PhD comprehensive examination at SURP and admission to TUDO with the concept paper/exposé.
  • A DAAD scholarship will be given to qualified candidates only. The selection of candidates is undertaken independently from TUDO and UP SURP by a DAAD committee.

  • Benefits of a DAAD scholarship “Research Grants - Bi-nationally supervised Doctoral Degrees/Cotutelle”:
  • Monthly stipend for doctoral candidates during their stays in Germany of 1,200 € (up 18+6 months based on the work plan submitted),
  • Payment for health, accident, and personal liability insurance covered for research stays.
  • Up to 3 round trip travel allowance to Germany.
  • Travel and accommodation expenses for supervising university professors for one trip of up to 10 days.
